Amazon is shutting down its cloud storage service Amazon Drive – GeekWire

Amazon despatched emails out Friday morning to Amazon Drive customers to inform them that the corporate is shutting down its cloud storage service on Dec. 31, 2023.

“We’re taking the chance to extra absolutely focus our efforts on Amazon Images to offer prospects a devoted answer for photographs and video storage,” Amazon says in an FAQ.

Amazon says photographs and movies in Amazon Drive accounts have been routinely saved to Amazon Images.

“When you depend on Amazon Drive on your file storage, you will want to go to the Amazon Drive web site and obtain your recordsdata by December 31, 2023,” Amazon famous.

Amazon Drive launched 11 years in the past. It competes with comparable choices from Dropbox, Microsoft, Field, and different software program giants.
